Hey guys,
Today's blog post will be about ' doing you '.
Personally I think that many people may find it hard to be themselves (including myself) because of all the pressure put on them by society's expectations.
The media is a powerful thing. Music, magazines, movies, TV shows and news are very influential in the way we see ourselves and others; and also the way we think. Especially in today's generation.
Yet, I don't think the people behind it actually realise the power they have.
By only portraying slim models in a magazine, they make others that don't look similar size feel self-conscience; which might lead to them going on ridiculous diets in order to become the media's version of a perfect.
What does it mean to be perfect, anyway? Well, according to the Dictionary, in order to be perfect you must have all the required or desirable elements, qualities or characteristics; as good as it is possible to be. So there you have it, it isn't possible to have ALL the required or desirable elements due to the fact that we all have flaws. So instead of trying to change your personality or image to be like somebody else, why don't you just embrace your flaws and focus on enhancing what you already have?
Hopefully you understand what I'm trying to say. It shouldn't matter if you are completely different to everyone else in society, whether that's because of your hobbies, preferences, size or fashion sense. You might find it harder to make friends because you're not their idea "perfect" but that shouldn't stop you from being yourself. Why fit in, when you can stand out?
Wouldn't you prefer to know that people genuinely like you because of who you are and not who you're pretending to be? If they can't accept you for who you are, don't worry, someone else will.
Live your life the way you want to. Have no regrets. DO YOU BOO!
See you later,
Tee xox

Loved this, so true, no one should be forced to be like everyone else <3
