It's been a while since I've done a beauty related post, so today's the day I start to change that.
As a dark skinned girl it can be very hard to find brands that have a foundation for my skin type. I've heard from other dark skinned women that they either have to mix multiple products to achieve their colour; which I think is extremely unfair. Why must we have to go through such struggle for something that could've been prevented.
I think one reason coloured women don't find products for their skin tone is because they're either out of their reach or they're not aware that they exist. I hope to expose my fellow coloured women to products that suit their skin tones.
Some of the opinions in this post are based on the samples I have tried out and others are based on products I've actually purchased.
Here we go!
1) YSL Touché Etait foundation. It retails for £31.50. It's extremely easy to blend and leaves your skin looking flawless. The most expensive of the 3 but it's worth every single penny. It has a lovely dewy finish along with a slight shimmer; that leaves you looking like a goddess.

2) Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation. It retails for £25. It serves as both a foundation and a concealer. When you take in to consideration the price of these items if you were to buy them separately; you would understand just how much of a bargain this is. To conceal you simply dab and to apply as a foundation you brush the product across your face.

3) MAC Studio Fix Fluid. It retails for £21.50. The cheapest among them all but that doesn't mean it's quality isn't up to par. It's a full coverage foundation. This foundation does require quite a bit of blending (what foundation doesn't?) but once you've blended it well, it literally looks like your second skin.

There are many more brands that cater to women of a darker complexion but these are the brands that I have tried and loved. I don't believe in recommending products that I haven't tried out.
I hope this has helped you discover new brands that will make your makeup application process shorter or less complicated.

See you soon,

I never thought Clinique would be there, that's interesting. I would def say MAC, but then I would add Sleek into that as well.
ReplyDeleteI've never actually tried any Sleek foundation before, I might have to try it out. The Clinique foundation is really good, a little goes a long way x
